CAS:3,5,6-Trimethylpyrazine-2-carbaldehyde is a chemical that is used as a decoupling agent to isolate mitochondria from animal tissue. It has been shown to induce mitochondrial biogenesis in cells by activating the transcription of genes for mitochondrial proteins, including cytochrome c oxidase subunit I and II (COI and COII), NADH dehydrogenase subunit 1 (ND1), and ATP synthase beta chain (ATP5B). The compound also has damaging effects on cancer cells, causing cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase through inhibition of DNA synthesis. 3,5,6-Trimethylpyrazine-2-carbaldehyde is synthesized by the fungus Talaromyces sp. or it can be isolated from acetate extracts of this fungus.Formula:C8H10N2OPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:150.18 g/mol
