3-(5-Nitro-2-furan)-acrolein
CAS:3-(5-Nitro-2-furan)-acrolein is an aromatic compound that is a byproduct of the combustion of coal, tobacco, and other organic substances. It has been shown to be genotoxic in animal models, with typhimurium as a model organism. 3-(5-Nitro-2-furan)-acrolein binds to DNA and forms stable adducts with guanine bases. This leads to mutations in the DNA sequence when it is replicated, which can lead to cancerous cells or cell death. 3-(5-Nitro-2-furan)-acrolein also binds to proteins in the ubiquitin proteasome system and inhibits its function. This inhibition leads to higher levels of protein and DNA damage in the liver cells of rats treated with this substance.Purity:Min. 95%3-(5-Nitrofuran-2-yl)acrylaldehyde
