CAS:Methyl arachidonyl fluorophosphonate is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits the activity of cyclooxygenase, an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandin H2. Methyl arachidonyl fluorophosphonate binds to the active site of cyclooxygenase, preventing access of substrate and thereby inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins. It has been shown to be cardioprotective in experimental models by limiting infarct size and reducing myocardial dysfunction.
