    Jte 607 is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed in vivo to form the active drug, Jte 607 acid. This drug has shown cardioprotective effects in animal models by reducing the expression of proinflammatory cytokines and increasing the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines. It also inhibits tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β), which are proinflammatory cytokines.
