1-BOC-4-(pyrrolidinocarbonyl)piperidine is a potent anti-tuberculosis agent that inhibits the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This drug has been shown to be active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains, including those that are resistant to other anti-tuberculosis agents. 1-BOC-4-(pyrrolidinocarbonyl)piperidine has been shown to inhibit the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in vitro and in vivo. It is a prodrug that is metabolized by mycobacteria to form piperidine, which inhibits DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV enzymes.
