8-Amino-1-octanol
CAS:8-Amino-1-octanol is an amide that inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, which degrades acetylcholine. This agent has been shown to have a hydrophobic character and is therefore highly lipophilic in nature. It also has a hydroxy group and a silicon atom as part of its structure, which makes it a strong inhibitor of cholinesterases. 8-Amino-1-octanol has been used in molecular modelling studies for Alzheimer's disease and its inhibition mechanism has been studied using molecular dynamics simulations. The molecule is luminescent and can be obtained by preparative vacuum distillation of fatty acids.Formula:C8H19NOPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:145.24 g/molRef: 3D-FA171892
