CAS:2-Ethylhexyl (2,4-dichlorophenoxy)acetate is a methyl ester with the chemical formula CH3COOC6H4Cl2. It is used in the production of polymers for textile and paper industries. 2-Ethylhexyl (2,4-dichlorophenoxy)acetate has a high solubility in xylene and can be monitored using a flow rate meter. This product has been shown to have an agricultural use as an insecticide, as well as being used in the production of polymers for textiles and papers. The extraction of 2-ethylhexyl (2,4-dichlorophenoxy)acetate from water can be done by desorption with dimethylamine or by liquid-liquid extraction with an organic solvent such as hexane.
