CAS 20020-02-4: 1,2,3,4-Tetrachloronaphthalene

1,2,3,4-Tetrachloro-naphthalene is a chemical that belongs to the class of organic solvents. It is used as a pesticide and reacts with fatty acids in the liver, forming fatty acid esters. These esters are metabolized to reactive metabolites which may be responsible for its carcinogenic properties. 1,2,3,4-Tetrachloro-naphthalene is also metabolized by the liver into various metabolic products such as chlorinated hydrocarbons. The reaction mechanism of 1,2,3,4-tetrachloro-naphthalene has been studied using piperonyl butoxide as an inhibitor and fatty acids as substrates. This study has shown that the reaction rate depends on the concentration of piperonyl butoxide and fatty acids.
