PENTAFLUOROPHENYLTRIETHOXYSILANE
CAS:Arylsilane Cross-Coupling Agent The cross-coupling reaction is a highly useful methodology for the formation of carbon-carbon bonds. It involves two reagents, with one typically being a suitable organometallic reagent - the nucleophile - and the other a suitable organic substrate, normally an unsaturated halide, tosylate or similar - the electrophile. CAS:Triethoxy(Pentafluorophenyl)silane is a modifier with a number of uses including the modification of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). Triethoxy(Pentafluorophenyl)silane can be used to modify the surface chemistry of MWCNTs, which is necessary for their use in applications such as coatings and electrochemical devices. The reaction mechanism of this process involves a substitution reaction between the fluorine atoms on triethoxy(pentafluoro phenyl)silane and the hydroxyl groups on MWCNTs. This reaction produces hydrogen fluoride (HF), water (HO), and active substances. HF can be recycled by reacting it with hydrochloric acid (HCl) and hydrogen ions (H+) to produce HClF and H+, which are then combined with HO to produce water.
