    Bamifylline is an anti-inflammatory drug that is used to treat chronic pulmonary diseases such as bronchitis, asthma, and emphysema. It has been shown to be effective in treating these diseases by inhibiting the production of cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (cNPD) which regulates the synthesis of inflammatory mediators. Bamifylline has also been shown to have cardiac effects and may inhibit the production of fatty acids. This drug interacts with other drugs such as sodium carbonate, which can lead to serious side effects.
