CAS:9,9-Diphenylfluorene is a synthetic organic compound that is used as a fluorescent indicator. It has been shown to be reactive with hydrogen chloride and hydrochloric acid in the presence of phenyl groups. 9,9-Diphenylfluorene has also been shown to absorb light at wavelengths between 400 nm and 700 nm and emit light at wavelengths between 450 nm and 750 nm. This dye has efficiencies of up to 90% for excitation at 380 nm, with emission from 460 nm to 650 nm. The hydrocarbon group on the diphenyl ring makes this dye soluble in organic solvents such as benzene, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, and ether. 9,9-Diphenylfluorene can be used as a donor in an electron transfer process known as fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET). This property allows it to be used in the detection of proteins that are located on the surfacePurity:Min. 95%
