MN58b is a selective inhibitor of choline kinase α (CHKα).

MN58b is a novel chemotherapeutic drug that is clinically relevant to the treatment of autoimmune diseases. MN58b has been shown to be toxic to primary cells, with potential for chemotherapy. MN58b may be used in the treatment of cancer and other autoimmune diseases by inhibiting the production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-6. The mechanism of action is not well understood, but it has been shown to inhibit toll-like receptor signaling pathways. This agent also exhibits antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria and fungi.
