2,4-DIETHOXYPYRIMIDINE
CAS:2,4-Diethoxy-pyrimidine (2,4-DOP) is a halogenated aromatic compound that can be used in the synthesis of trifluoroacetate esters. It reacts with carboxylic acids to form ester derivatives. 2,4-DOP is also reactive towards other compounds and has been shown to react with nucleosides such as thymidylate and cytidine. This reaction results in the formation of pyrimidine nucleoside analogues that are active against herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV1). In addition to its antiviral activity, 2,4-DOP has been shown to inhibit the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase, which is responsible for folate metabolism. This inhibition leads to an increase in the production of thymidylate and thymine nucleotides by inhibiting their degradation by section. 2,4-DOP also binds to DNA and inhibits transcriptionFormula:C8H12N2O2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:168.19 g/mol
