CAS:4-Phenyl-1,3-thiazole-2-thiol is an antibacterial agent that belongs to the nitroso group of ligands. It is a tautomeric compound and can exist as either the nitroso or phenylthio form. The 4-phenyl-1,3-thiazole-2-thiol has been shown to be an effective inhibitor against E. coli and S. typhimurium, but not against Enterococcus faecalis. This compound has also been shown to be stable in the solid state and in solution at pH 7.4, with no evidence of significant hydrolysis or oxidation.
