N-Methyl-N-thiobenzoylhydrazine
CAS:N-methyl-N-thiobenzoylhydrazine (MTBH) is a reactive, damaging chemical that reacts with nitrogen atoms. It has been shown to have anticancer activity by inhibiting the growth of various cancer cells in vitro. MTBH is an isomeric molecule with two forms, S and R. The S form has greater reactivity than the R form, which may be due to its greater solubility in water or its higher concentration of reactive sites. Its reactivity can be increased by complexing it with copper ions. MTBH inhibits cell proliferation by binding to DNA and RNA in the nucleus, preventing DNA polymerase from synthesizing new strands of nucleotides. This leads to cell death by blocking the synthesis of protein required for cell division and growth.Formula:C8H10N2SPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:166.24 g/molRef: 3D-FM152495
