Dinitroso-p-phenylenediamine is an organic chemical compound that is used as a precursor to the dye, para-phenylenediamine. The N,N-diacetic acid dimethyl ester of dinitroso-p-phenylenediamine is used in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals and agricultural chemicals. It is also used in textiles, plastics, and rubber goods. Dinitroso-p-phenylenediamine has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of human keratinocytes and endothelial cells by binding to calcium channels and phosphodiesterase enzymes. This product also has reactive properties and can be used as an antimicrobial agent against bacteria and fungi.
