Ceramide 6
CAS:Ceramide 6 is a ceramide that exhibits apoptosis-inducing activity. It is effective in a model system for skin condition, and has been shown to exhibit antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Ceramide 6 also possesses the ability to scavenge reactive oxygen species, which are involved in the radiation-induced cell death pathway. The chemical structure of ceramide 6 contains an unsubstituted carbonyl group at C3, which is responsible for its hydroxyl group at C2. This group may be responsible for the dry weight increase and lipid peroxidation seen in this molecule. Ceramide 6 also contains ester linkages with dipropyl ether and malonic acid at C5, which may account for its acid analysis results.Formula:C36H73NO5Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:599.97 g/molSphingomyelin Impurity 8 (Ceramide VI) (Mixture of Diastereomers)
