R-IMPP

R-IMPP is a small molecule that has been shown to inhibit cholesterol synthesis. The inhibition of cholesterol synthesis by R-IMPP leads to the lowering of low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol and uptake, which in turn prevents the formation of atherosclerotic lesions. R-IMPP has also been shown to be an effective treatment for high blood pressure. This drug is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for its potential use as a protein target, translation inhibitor, and serine protease inhibitor.
