β-Ala-β-Ala-OH
CAS:Beta-Ala-beta-Ala-OH is a cyclic amino acid with a beta-amino group, a beta-carboxylic acid group and an alpha hydroxy group. It has been found to be a zwitterion with three hydrogen atoms in the molecule. Beta-Ala-beta-Ala-OH is also known as betaine or trimethylglycine. Beta-Ala-beta-Ala is an additive that can be used in the production of surfactants, which are substances that reduce surface tension between two liquids. Betaine is hydrophobic and can interact with micelles (small spheres formed by molecules that are attracted to each other) due to its ring structure. The addition of betaine increases the size of micelles, which leads to an increase in the amount of surfactant present at the interface between two liquids.Formula:C6H12N2O3Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:160.17 g/molRef: 3D-FA48791
