The catalytic activity of 1-phenyl-1H-imidazol-2-amine can be improved by adding substituents to the imidazoline ring. 1-Phenyl-1H-imidazol-2-amine is a spectroscopic compound that exhibits infrared absorption bands at 3,200 cm-1 and 3,700 cm-1.
