CAS:Metrafenone is a fungicide that has a synergic effect with other fungicides, including methanol. It is also used as a control agent for infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and leprosy. Metrafenone inhibits DNA synthesis by binding to the enzyme DNA polymerase. This prevents the formation of double-stranded DNA from single-stranded templates during replication. In addition, it also binds to the RNA polymerase enzyme, which prevents transcription and translation of genetic information. The low energy film-forming properties of metrafenone make it easy to apply in liquid form on plants or animal products. Metrafenone can be detected in biological samples using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with chemical ionization (CI) and multiple-reaction monitoring (MRM). This analytical method can detect metrafenone at concentrations as low as 0.1 µg/mL and is particularly useful for analyzing biological samples containing complex mixturesFormula:C19H21BrO5Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:409.27 g/mol
