It has been shown to inhibit the growth of certain types of cancer cells, including melanoma and breast cancer. 5H-Pyrrolo[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4-amine is also an analog of 2-(5'-hydroxypentyl)-5H-pyrrolo[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4(3H)-one.
