CAS 2234-75-5: 1,2,4-Trimethylcyclohexane

1,2,4-Trimethylcyclohexane is a mixture of stereoisomers that is used as a chemical intermediate. It is also used in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals and pesticides. The active form of 1,2,4-trimethylcyclohexane has been shown to increase intracellular calcium concentration in granule cells through voltage-dependent calcium channels. This compound also has been shown to be reactive with organic solvents such as naphthenic hydrocarbons. In vitro studies have demonstrated that 1,2,4-trimethylcyclohexane may cause neurotoxicity by inhibiting the production of neurotransmitters and increasing oxidative stress.
