Fmoc-l-pro(4-keto)-oh

Fmoc-Pro(4-keto)-OH is a non-invasive marker for fecal contamination. It has been found to be useful in the detection of plant species and plant samples, as well as in ecology studies. The Fmoc-Pro(4-keto)-OH metabolite can be used to assess the reintroduction of hemionus (a type of fish) into Lake Pterocarpum and Zygophyllum (a type of cactus). Fmoc-Pro(4-keto)-OH is also present in the urine of Equus (a type of horse), and can be used as a biomarker for alkane metabolism.
