CAS:2-Fluoro-5-nitrophenol is a chemical that is used as a reagent in the diagnosis of tuberculosis. It is also used to detect HIV infection. The signal detection and cost-effectiveness analysis of this compound were investigated for its use in diagnosing hepatitis C, AIDS, and malaria. 2-Fluoro-5-nitrophenol binds to amyloid proteins which are associated with diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and diabetes mellitus type II. 2-Fluoro-5-nitrophenol can be used as an antigen to detect antibodies against it or to measure the levels of certain proteins in blood samples. The optical properties of 2-fluoro-5-nitrophenol can be measured using fluorescence spectroscopy or optical density measurements.
