CAS:Triethyl 4-phosphonobutyrate (TEPB) is a synthetic drug that has been shown to be effective against the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum. TEPB inhibits the enzyme reductoisomerase, which is essential for the synthesis of 5-phosphate in human erythrocytes. It also prevents the synthesis of phospholipids in eukaryotic cells, including both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. TEPB has been shown to be effective against P. falciparum in vitro and in vivo. The drug is not active against other species of Plasmodium or other parasites such as Toxoplasma gondii or Schistosoma mansoni.Formula:C10H21O5PPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:252.24 g/mol
