  • Ethylhydroquinone

    CAS:
Ethylhydroquinone is a reactive molecule with a carbonyl group. It is found in urine samples and has been shown to be formed by the oxidation of fatty acids. The reactivity of ethylhydroquinone was demonstrated in the presence of redox cycle, where it reacts with p-hydroxybenzoic acid to form hippuric acid and p-hydroxyphenylacetic acid. Ethylhydroquinone inhibits human liver and rat liver microsomes in vitro, inhibiting polymerization of proteins and ether linkages. This molecule also reacts with DNA to produce oxidative dna.
