4,7-Dimethoxyindole
CAS:4,7-Dimethoxyindole is a synthetic indole alkaloid that has been found to be active against Leishmania and Toxoplasma. It is also an atypical drug with regiospecificity for the parasite thp-1 cells. 4,7-Dimethoxyindole was first synthesized in 1990 as a potential antipsychotic drug. The compound is not cytotoxic to human cells and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects. It binds to the parasite fatty acid synthase, inhibiting the production of long chain fatty acids. This leads to decreased virulence and reduced infectivity of the parasite.Purity:Min. 95%1H-Indole, 4,7-dimethoxy-
