1-Mesitylhydrazine hydrochloride (1MH) is a chiral heterocycle that is used as a catalyst to produce enantiomeric products. 1MH is an electrophile with a carbene and triazolium group, which reacts with catalysts to form the desired product. It has been shown to be able to catalyze the reaction of heterocyclic compounds with reagents in the presence of metallic catalysts. The diastereomeric purity of this compound can be determined using gas chromatography.
