Di-tert-butylnitroxide
CAS:Di-tert-butylnitroxide is a nitroxide that has been used for the production of sodium salts. It is stable up to a temperature of about -78 °C because of its ability to undergo phase transition at this temperature. Di-tert-butylnitroxide reacts with sodium dodecyl sulfate and dimethyl fumarate to form nitroxides, which are useful in biochemical research and as surfactants. This substance is also used in membrane interactions and redox potential studies. Di-tert-butylnitroxide can be formed through the reaction between hydrogen peroxide and tert-butyl hydroperoxide, which occurs at a rate that is proportional to the concentration of each reactant. The formation rate of di-tert-butylnitroxide can also be determined by measuring its formation rate in cell culture.Formula:C8H18NOPurity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:Clear LiquidMolecular weight:144.23 g/mol
