CAS:Methyl 3,5-dihydroxy-4-methoxybenzoate is a catechol-O-methyltransferase inhibitor that also modulates tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-α. It has been shown to be cytotoxic in vitro, and to inhibit the proliferation of human T cells. Inhibition of TNF-α can be seen by the inhibition of the expression of this cytokine in vivo. Methyl 3,5-dihydroxy-4-methoxybenzoate has been shown to inhibit the growth of hepatoma cells in culture and to induce necrosis. This compound has also been used as a crystallization aid for eriodictyol, a flavonoid molecule. The crystal structure of eriodictyol was determined using single crystal X-ray diffraction data collected from methyl 3,5-dihydroxy-4-methoxybenzoate crystals.Formula:C9H10O5Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:198.17 g/molRef: 3D-FM139279
