  • 3,5-Cycloergosta-6,8(14),22-triene

    CAS:
3,5-Cycloergosta-6,8(14),22-triene is an anti-oxidant and anti-cancer compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It is a phallusinoid with a chemical structure similar to that of resveratrol. The acetate extract of 3,5-cycloergosta-6,8(14),22-triene was found to have high levels of fatty acids and mononuclear fatty acid esters. These compounds have been shown to have anticancer effects by inhibiting the proliferation of tumor cells. 3,5-Cycloergosta-6,8(14),22-triene also inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and increases mitochondrial membrane potential in cancer cells. This may be due to its ability to reduce lipid peroxidation and increase glutathione synthesis in mitochondria.
