Isopropyltriphenylphosphonium Iodide is a chiral compound that has been studied as a potential drug for the treatment of infectious diseases. It is known to inhibit the growth of cancer cells and may be used for the treatment of degenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease. Isopropyltriphenylphosphonium Iodide is stereoselective, meaning it only binds to one form of a molecule or protein. This allows it to selectively target specific cells in the body. Isopropyltriphenylphosphonium Iodide inhibits amine oxidase, an enzyme that breaks down amines in the body.
