Aldol 470 phosphate is a chromogenic substrate for phosphatases yielding a yellow precipitate. Furthermore it shows some fluorescence (excitationat 320 nm to 490 nm). In contrast to classical indoxyl substrates, Aldolsubstrates work not only under aerobic but also under anaerobic conditions.
