5-Amino-5-oxopentanoic acid
CAS:5-Amino-5-oxopentanoic acid (5-APA) is a growth factor that has been shown to stimulate the growth of a number of cell types. 5-APA stimulates the release of gamma-aminobutyric acid, which in turn inhibits epidermal growth factor at the cellular level. This inhibition prevents the proliferation of cells and leads to the death of cancerous cells. 5-APA also inhibits inflammatory responses by suppressing TNFα production by macrophages. The clinical use of 5-APA is limited due to its toxicity at high doses. However, low doses have been shown to be effective as an antiinflammatory agent in animal studies.Formula:C5H9NO3Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:131.13 g/molRef: 3D-FA115388
