3,5-Dibromo-2-chlorobenzoic acid
CAS:3,5-Dibromo-2-chlorobenzoic acid is an antitubercular drug that is used to treat tuberculosis. The compound has been shown to have a synergistic effect with rifampicin in the treatment of mycobacterial infections. It also inhibits the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex strains, as well as other mycobacteria. 3,5-Dibromo-2-chlorobenzoic acid prevents bacterial growth by binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, thereby preventing transcription and replication. The high frequency of human activity has been shown using a patch-clamp technique on human erythrocytes. This active form is metabolized through a number of metabolic transformations, including hydrolysis by esterases or glucuronidases, oxidation by cytochrome P450 enzymes, reduction by glutathione reductase, or conjugation with glucFormula:C7H3Br2ClO2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:314.36 g/molbenzoic acid, 3,5-dibromo-2-chloro-
