15-Nonacosanol
CAS:15-Nonacosanol is a molecule that has been found to be effective against bacterial membranes. It is a long-acting small-molecule drug that is able to penetrate the bacterial membrane and interact with the fatty acid and phosphate groups, which are necessary for the biosynthesis of phospholipids. When 15-nonacosanol interacts with bacterial membranes, it leads to an accumulation of ionic charges at the membrane surface. These charged molecules interfere with cell metabolism and lead to cell death. 15-Nonacosanol has been shown to have a treatment effect on S. aureus, E. coli, and K. pneumoniae bacteria in mice models.Formula:C29H60OPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:424.8 g/molRef: 3D-CAA76481
