The general formula has two classes of functionality.     Trimethoxyvinylsilane is a chemical compound that forms a polymer matrix when combined with fatty acids. It is soluble in methanol and pluronic f127, but insoluble in water. Trimethoxyvinylsilane has been shown to be able to react with hydroxyl groups on the surface of sodium carbonate and inorganic acid. It also reacts with nitrogen atoms on the surface of sodium carbonate and inorganic acid. The kinetic data for this reaction has been determined using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, which showed that the activation energy was 29 kJ/mol.
