    8-[4-(4-Fluorophenyl)-4-Oxobutyl]-3-Methyl-3,8-Diazaspiro[4.5]Decane-2,4-Dione is a chemical substance that has been shown to have an effect on lung function in mice. It was tested on CD-1 mice and found to increase the pulmonary resistance (R) of the lungs in response to methacholine challenge. 8-[4-(4-Fluorophenyl)-4-Oxobutyl]-3-Methyl-3,8-Diazaspiro[4.5]Decane-2,4-Dione also reduces the degree of lung inflammation and improves the respiratory function in mice with inflammatory airway disease. This compound has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth in vitro by inhibiting protein synthesis through inhibition of ribosomal activity.
