Profoxydim-lithium (PRO) is an anionic surfactant that has been used to monitor the presence of nutrients in water. It can be used in monitoring pollution and nutrient levels, as well as to measure potassium concentrations in the water. The PRO technique requires a low concentration of the surfactant, which activates by recirculation and preexisting parameters. The PRO technique is sensitive enough to detect changes in environmental pollution caused by oxadiazon, one of the most common pesticides found in soil and water.
