CAS:5-Chloro-2-methyl-1H-benzimidazole (5CMB) is a naturally occurring compound that is found in the Solanum tuberosum species. It has been shown to have antiviral properties, and has been shown to have a high resistance against viruses. 5CMB also inhibits the growth of some bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The mechanism of action by which 5CMB inhibits bacterial growth is not yet known. However, it may be due to its ability to bind with nitro groups or its ability to inhibit cell division by preventing the synthesis of DNA.Formula:C8H7ClN2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:166.61 g/molRef: 3D-FC135921
