CAS:1-Methoxyphenazine is a redox cycle compound that can be used as a tetrazolium dye. It is an inhibitor of the enzyme tyrosinase, which converts tyrosine to DOPA and DOPA to dopaquinone. 1-Methoxyphenazine inhibits the oxidation of L-DOPA to dopamine and increases the formation of melanin. This chemical also has antioxidant effects, which are due to its ability to inhibit the formation of oxidized products such as hydrogen peroxide and lipid peroxides. 1-Methoxyphenazine also inhibits nuclear DNA replication in human cells in culture by binding to deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) at the active site of DNA polymerase alpha. It is also able to inhibit uptake of all-trans-retinoic acid into cultured human skin cells.Formula:C13H10N2OPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:210.24 g/molRef: 3D-CAA87617
