CAS:1-Methyl-5-nitroindole is a bactericidal reagent that has been used to treat Porphyromonas gingivalis infections. It is not active against other bacteria, such as Escherichia coli and Proteus mirabilis. The mechanism of action is thought to be due to the alkylation of DNA and inhibition of protein synthesis. The safety profile of 1-methyl-5-nitroindole is excellent and it has a good therapeutic index. Nitrosation with 1-methyl-5-nitroindole does not occur in vivo and there are no reports of carcinogenicity or mutagenicity.Formula:C9H8N2O2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:176.17 g/molRef: 3D-FM140271
