CAS:D-Serine is an amino acid that has been shown to have a physiological function in the brain. It is an endogenous coagonist at the glycine site on the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor. D-Serine has been shown to be neuroprotective and reduce neuronal death in experimental models of Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and stroke. D-Serine also has a role in energy metabolism, as it can be converted to serine by racemase. This conversion is critical for neuronal survival during periods of prolonged fasting or low glucose levels. The production of d-serine from l-serine via racemase may serve as a potential biomarker for certain diseases such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.Formula:C3H7NO3Color and Shape:White PowderMolecular weight:105.09 g/molD-Serine
