CAS:Methylthio-m-cresol is a metabolite of methadone and may be used as a marker for the presence of the drug. Methylthio-m-cresol is an immunosuppressant and has been shown to inhibit virus replication, particularly in HIV infected cells. Methylthio-m-cresol can be detected in urine samples using a gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer (GC/MS) or liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS). It is also a possible biomarker for hepatitis C infection. Methylthio-m-cresol binds to the opioid receptor on the cell surface and inhibits viral replication by inhibiting reverse transcriptase activity.Purity:Min. 95%
