1-Naphthyl Propionate
CAS:1-Naphthyl propionate is a chemical that is used in the production of amino acids, fatty acids, and other organic compounds. It is also an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals. The compound can be synthesized by reacting 1-naphthylacetic acid with ethyl formate in a condensation reaction. This reaction forms an ester bond between the carboxylic acid group and the alcohol group on the ethyl formate molecule. 1-Naphthyl propionate can also be obtained by reacting sodium taurocholate with ether extracts from animal tissue or fat. 1-Naphthyl propionate has been shown to inhibit viruses such as HIV and pseudotuberculosis bacteria. It is also used as an antifungal agent for inhibiting yeast growth at pH 5.5 and higher, but does not have any effect on Candida albicans.Formula:C13H12O2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:200.24 g/molNaphthalen-1-yl propionate
