    Pyrazin-2-yl-thiourea is a complex molecule that binds to the active site of a drug target, stabilizing it. This process prevents it from binding to other molecules, which is required for the production of the target's biological effect. Pyrazin-2-yl-thiourea has shown antituberculosis activity in vitro and in vivo and has been found to be active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains. The antituberculosis activity of pyrazin-2-yl-thiourea may be due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of RNA or protein in M. tuberculosis cells by binding to ribosomes or inhibiting RNA polymerase II activity.
