mPEG3-SH is a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) detection reagent used in the diagnosis of colorectal carcinoma. It has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against mouse tumor cells, which is due to its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis and the polymerase activity of the enzyme. mPEG3-SH is a small molecule that can be taken up by cells and bind to mitochondrial membranes, which leads to cell lysis. The detection sensitivity of mPEG3-SH for colorectal carcinoma is low compared with other diagnostic agents such as fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET).

m-PEG3-SH (M-PEG3-Thiol) is a PEG-based PROTAC linker. m-PEG3-SH can be used in the synthesis of PROTACs.
