5-(4,4,5,5-Tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)pyrimidine is an inorganic compound that is used as a ligand for transition metal complexes. It has been shown to be selective in its reactivity with certain metals and can undergo bond cleavage with borane. This ligand has been studied experimentally by single-crystal x-ray diffraction (SCXRD) and x-ray diffraction (XRD). The experimental studies have revealed that 5-(4,4,5,5-Tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)pyrimidine reacts with the metal boronate to form a new boronate complex.
