CAS:9,9-Bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)fluorene is a dye that belongs to the class of phenylenediamines. It has been shown to be carcinogenic in CD-1 mice and causes chronic exposure in humans, resulting in cardiac dysfunction. 9,9-Bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)fluorene has also shown to cause cancer in human endometrial cells and serum aminotransferases elevations. In addition, it has been found to inhibit mitochondrial membrane potential and induce locomotor activity and fatty acid release in rodents. 9,9-Bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)fluorene is water soluble with a monosodium salt form.
